Solar Arc timing calculator

Free Solar Arc Directions Calculator

Move every natal planet and angle by the exact distance traveled by the secondary progressed Sun. Regu then compares the directed chart back to natal positions and ranks the closest timing contacts.

What the Solar Arc calculator shows

  • The exact solar arc for any target date after birth
  • Natal and directed positions for planets, Ascendant, and Midheaven
  • Conjunctions, squares, oppositions, trines, and sextiles within a tight one-degree orb
  • Applying or separating phase with an estimated date of exact contact
Flow

Best reading flow

  1. Use the recorded birth time because directed angles are highly time-sensitive.
  2. Start with conjunctions, squares, and oppositions involving angles or luminaries.
  3. Look for repeated activation of the same natal point, house, or chart axis.
Context

Why this calculator is different

Solar Arc result pages often begin with a dense chart and an unsorted technical table. Regu keeps the calculation auditable while ranking the strongest contacts, showing the phase, and placing natal and directed positions side by side.

FAQ

Common questions

How is the Solar Arc calculated?

The distance between the natal Sun and secondary progressed Sun is calculated for the target age. That same arc is added to every natal planet and angle.

Is Solar Arc the same as Solar Return?

No. Solar Return casts a new chart for the annual Sun return. Solar Arc symbolically moves the natal chart and compares the directed points back to natal positions.

Do I need an exact birth time?

Yes, especially for directed Ascendant and Midheaven contacts. A small birth-time error can noticeably shift their timing.
